The learning

Our range of Photography Courses in Mid Wales are quite diverse but are all designed to teach the fundamental disciplines of taking pictures. That is to say the intention is to make you a better photographer by understanding, not just what your camera can do, but what you can do with that camera. The groups we take are limited in number so its possible to have everyone mixed in their abilities and we will look after each person personally and individually.

Capture the beauty of the Welsh Land and Seascapes

Quite possibly the most popular genre in photography and this course will suit anyone wishing to learn more and improve on their technique. We run courses suitable for beginners and those with a bit more experience

This course will show you how to use your camera to take pictures of landscapes and seascapes. Depending on the type of courses we shall be visiting the areas within the Cambrian mountains and also lowland areas. We also utilise the beautiful West Coast of Wales within the Cardigan Bay area for our Seascapes. All mountain trips will be accompanied by a qualified Mountain Leader for your safety during the day.

This course is designed to introduce the photographer to seeing how the beauty of your image can be enhanced by making the most of composition and light.

The course will cover the following.

  • Best settings for your camera
  • Composing great land and seascape shots
  • Best use of light
  • Utilising structure within your image
  • Continuous image review
  • Metering for the best exposure
  • Guided by a qualified Mountain Leader as well as your photography instructor

All day course start and finish at the accommodation. From 10:00 to 16:30.

All refreshments and lunch is provided (Please let us know if any dietary requirements).

  • Meet at venue for 10:00 start. Introductions with tea and coffee
  • Course starts at 10:20
  • Lunch which is provided at 12:30
  • Course resumes at 13:20

Our courses will involve outdoor work so its very important that you bring suitable clothing and footwear. The landscape courses may involve ascending high Welsh peaks so walking boots and quality hiking gear will be mandatory. For lower level tours then sturdy walking shoes may suffice but still waterproofs will be required. Don’t hesitate to contact us for any advise about this.
